SO MUCH BLOG TO BLOG! BLERGH!!! Okay, had to get that out of my system. There's so much to write about, and so little time, it seems. I had one idea when I sat down to write, the first time, but with every distraction comes another thing to mention.
First, I wanted to send out a huge thanks to all of you who have helped us get to the 60% milestone for our monthly pledges. Just awesome, and extremely exciting.
Second, we've been talking with the current tenants of our future apartment in Riedlingen, and it's getting real. We've seen photos, we know the address, and Christal just found out last night that there's a family in Riedlingen that plays street hockey on Christmas. For those of you with intimate knowledge of the Barkman family Christmas traditions, this will bring a frozen-tennis-ball-shaped tear to your eye.
Third, I officially put in my letter of resignation. July 26. Things keep getting real-er.
Fourth, with that in mind, we're on our final leg of the campaign trail, hounding would-be and could-be partners in our ministry to join us with monthly pledges. I can't express to you how weird it is to be so blunt about something so personal, and it hasn't become less foreign a concept to me. Still, we need monthly pledges, so if you haven't submitted one yet, we hope you'll consider what BFA is up to and our role in their ministry, and come alongside us in this way. If you have already submitted, please pray for those folks I just mentioned. ;) Just kidding. Mostly. No, seriously, just kidding. CONFLICTED!
Fifth, it's Nadia's fourth birthday tomorrow. D'awwww! She's so cute, and she's growing up, and it's a thing that's happening, whether I want it to or not.
Sixth, I watched a clip this morning about a guy who smiles a lot. His perspective on life and, most relevant to me as I sat and watched it, on work could benefit each of us, I'm sure. His happiness is more contagious than a diseased monkey. I've embedded it below for your viewing pleasure.
